The Swazi flag is rectangular, and its colours are red, blue and yellow. Each colour has a meaning. Red: Stands for the blood of the opposition. Blue: Stands for the attempt to retain peace and stability by all means, however violent. Yellow: stands for the resources squandered by the royal family. The flag also has a picture shield and spear. These two symbols stand for or represent the protection of the king from the oppositional forces by all means possible. The shield is black and white to symbolize the enormous inequalities that exist in Swaziland.
